A New Beginning

For my AP English class, we will be conducting an observation project of which I chose nature as my project: My Apple Tree

I chose to observe my apple tree in my backyard because I love how each year in a special time of the year, the apple tree grows delicious green apples that have a great taste and make a good/healthy snack.

The apple tree in my back yard has been there for quite a while now, and has been growing green apples since. The apples begin to grow around mid-August and last for about 1 month before they begin to turn ugly and taste not so good. I have always noticed how the tree begins out straight at the beginning of the year, but as the year progresses and apples begin to abound, the tree begins to bend diagonally as well as the branches start to break.

During these observations I hope to find out how the weather, animals, and insects affect the apple tree itself and the apples that grow upon it. Also, I would like to take note in how the apples taste as they grow older and older as the days go by.

  1. Nice blog so far. It must be great to have an apple tree in your backyard; lucky. All I have is a skinny tree with dry leaves, and that's what I'm observing. I thought it would be boring, but it turns out that it's more interesting than I thought. So if I can say a lot about my simple tree, you should be able to say much more. Plus, I love how you describe the changes in your tree's branches throughout the year. I can't wait to read more.

  2. From what you've described, it seems like your tree creates really crisp and juicy apples, yummmm. When your tree is producing apples, how much does it produce? How tall is it? I've been doing some research on trees and my mind has been blown! I hope over time this project will have the same affect on you.

  3. I love how knowledgeable you are with your tree, and it makes a great starting point for this project. My apple tree isn't as good as you described yours as which I envy. Anyways, good luck with your future posts.

  4. I love how apple trees dangle as the apples make the branch heavy. And when the apples start to rot and decay you know autumn and winter are coming. Ahh don't you just love apple trees
